Introduced by Thor Dalebø of Normandy, France, France in 2023, Canna (Balisier) ‘Ben Thumb’ is a Miniature Group cultivar; mid green foliage, small, elliptical shaped, acute apex, spreading habit; clusters of flowers are open, red with a yellow margin, staminodes are medium size, edges regular, petals red, fully self-cleaning, outstanding bloomer, flowers in early summer until frosts, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not self-pollinating or true to type, capsules globose; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured pink and purple; tillering is good.

Canna ‘Ben Thumb’ is available from specialist growers; breeding is C. ‘Tom Thumb’ x C. ‘Alma’.
