Introduced by Antoine Wintzer of The Conard & Jones Co., West Grove, Pennsylvania, USA, Canna (Balisier) ‘California’ is a medium sized Crozy Group cultivar; green foliage, elliptical shaped, spreading habit; oval main stems, coloured green; flowers are self-coloured orange, fully self-cleaning, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not self-pollinating or true to type; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured white; tillering is prolific.

Canna ‘California’ is available from specialist growers.
