Introduced by Antoine Wintzer of The Conard & Jones Co., West Grove, Pennsylvania, USA, Canna (Balisier) ‘Antoine Rivoire’ is a medium sized Crozy Group cultivar; green foliage, ovoid shaped, acute apex, branching habit; flowers are open, self-coloured scarlet, staminodes are medium size, edges regular, petals red, fully self-cleaning, outstanding bloomer, flowers in summer until frosts, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not self-pollinating or true to type, capsules globose; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured pink and purple; tillering is prolific.
