Introduced by Karl Sprenger of Messrs Dammann et Cie, Italy in 1897, Canna (Balisier) ‘Bavaria’ is a medium sized Italian Group cultivar; green foliage, elliptical shaped, spreading habit; flowers are open, yellow with red blotches, throat red, staminodes are large, average bloomer, blooms open in the early morning; seed is sterile, pollen is low fertile; rhizomes are long and thin.
