Introduced by Sydney Percy-Lancaster, Alipore Cannas, India, Canna (Balisier) ‘Yellow Gal’ is a medium sized Crozy Group cultivar; green foliage, oval shaped, acute apex, spreading habit; oval main stems, coloured green; flowers are open, yellow with an orange margin, staminodes are large, edges regular, petals green, good bloomer, flowers in summer until frosts, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not self-pollinating or true to type, capsules globose; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured white and pink; tillering is average.
