Introduced by Ernest Turc Nursery, Angers, France, Canna (Balisier) ‘Tafraout’ is a small Crozy Group cultivar; green foliage, elliptical shaped, branching habit; flowers are self-coloured cherry-red, edges irregular, petals red, fully self-cleaning, outstanding bloomer, flowers in summer until frosts, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not self-pollinating or true to type, capsules globose; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured pink and purple; tillering is prolific.
