Johnson, USA in 2004, Canna (Balisier) ‘Borneo’ is a medium sized Premier Group cultivar; dark green and red variegated foliage, oblong shaped, maroon margin, spreading habit; round main stems, coloured green + purple; half-round flower stalks, coloured green + purple; clusters of flowers are open, fuchsia with rose spots, staminodes are large, edges irregular, average bloomer, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not self-pollinating or true to type, capsules globose; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured white and pink; tillering is average.
