Curt Wallace, USA, Canna (Balisier) ‘Alaska’ is a medium sized Crozy Group cultivar; glaucous green foliage, elliptical-acuminate shaped, white margin, branching habit; oval main stems, coloured green; triangular flower stalks, coloured green; spikes of flowers are open, self-coloured white, throat lemon, staminodes are medium size, edges lightly frilled, stamen is cream, style is cream, petals yellow, fully self-cleaning, outstanding bloomer, flowers in early summer until frosts, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not self-pollinating or true to type, capsules round; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured white; tillering is prolific.
