Introduced by Raphaël Roger, Belgium in 2001, Canna (Balisier) ‘Temploux’ is a tall Foliage Group cultivar; green and purple variegated foliage, large, oval shaped, maroon margin, upright habit; round main stems, coloured purple; spikes of flowers are erect, self-coloured red-orange, staminodes are long and narrow, edges regular, style is red, petals red, fully self-cleaning, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not true to type, self-pollinating, capsules round; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured pink and purple; tillering is prolific.
Canna ‘Temploux’ is available from specialist growers; breeding is Purpurea Floribunda x open.
