Introduced by Bob Hayes of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, USA, Canna (Balisier) ‘Stuttgart’ is a tall Foliage Group cultivar; green and white variegated foliage, oval shaped, acute apex, upright habit; half-round main stems, coloured green; spikes of flowers are erect, self-coloured apricot, staminodes are long and narrow, edges regular, fully self-cleaning, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not true to type, self-pollinating, capsules round; rhizomes are long and thin, coloured white; tillering is prolific.
Canna ‘Stuttgart’ is generally available; breeding is Canna ‘Annei’ sport.
