Introduced by Alice Harris of Karchesky Canna, Pennsylvania, USA in 2010, Canna (Balisier) ‘Strawberry Delight’ is a medium sized Premier Group cultivar; dark green foliage, elliptical shaped, acute apex, maroon margin, branching habit; clusters of flowers are open, self-coloured coral-pink, throat cerise-pink, staminodes are large, edges regular, petals purple, fully self-cleaning, good bloomer, flowers in early summer until frosts, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not self-pollinating or true to type, capsules globose; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured white and pink; tillering is good.
