Introduced by Bernard Yorke, Australia, Canna (Balisier) ‘Port Denison’ is a medium sized Premier Group cultivar; green and purple variegated foliage, elliptical shaped, acute apex, maroon margin, spreading habit; clusters of flowers are open, apricot with a salmon blush, staminodes are large, edges irregular, stamen is gold, style is gold, petals green, fully self-cleaning, outstanding bloomer, flowers in summer until frosts, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not self-pollinating or true to type, capsules globose; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured pink and purple; tillering is good.
