Canna (Balisier) ‘paniculata f. variegata’ is a medium sized species; dark green and light green variegated foliage, large, oblong shaped, acute apex, spreading habit; clusters of flowers are erect, self-coloured red, staminodes are narrow, edges regular, petals green, fully self-cleaning, low bloomer, flowers in late summer until frosts, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, self-pollinating and also true to type, capsules globose; rhizomes are tuber-like groups.
