Introduced by Brian Williams, Louisville, Kentucky, USA in 2005, Canna (Balisier) ‘Momma Wanda’ is a medium sized Premier Group cultivar; green foliage, oval shaped, branching habit; oval main stems, coloured green; triangular flower stalks, coloured green; clusters of flowers are open, self-coloured orange-red, throat yellow speckled with orange-red, staminodes are large, edges regular, petals purple with farina, fully self-cleaning, outstanding bloomer, blooms open in the early morning; seed is low fertile, pollen is sterile; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured purple; tillering is average.
