Introduced by Brian Williams, Louisville, Kentucky, USA in 2005, Canna (Balisier) ‘Lau’ is a tall Foliage Group cultivar; green, bronze and pink variegated foliage, lanceolate shaped, maroon margin, upright habit; oval main stems, coloured purple; spikes of flowers are erect, self-coloured pink, staminodes are narrow, edges regular, late bloomer, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not self-pollinating or true to type, capsules globose; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured purple; tillering is slow.
