Introduced by Pierre Antoine Marie Crozy of Crozy et fil, Lyon , France, Canna (Balisier) ‘La Butte’ is a small Crozy Group cultivar; purple foliage, oval shaped, branching habit; oval main stems, coloured purple; spikes of flowers are open, self-coloured cherry-red, staminodes are medium size, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not self-pollinating or true to type.
