Introduced by Raelene Cowan of Canpelkni Blooms, Victoria, Australia, Canna (Balisier) ‘Durgarae’ is a medium sized Crozy Group cultivar; green and purple variegated foliage, elliptical shaped, acute apex, spreading habit; clusters of flowers are open, apricot-orange with a coral-pink blush, staminodes are medium size, edges irregular, petals green, fully self-cleaning, good bloomer, flowers in summer until frosts, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not self-pollinating or true to type, capsules globose; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured white and pink; tillering is good.
