Introduced by Alice Harris of Karchesky Canna, Pennsylvania, USA, Canna (Balisier) ‘Cheyenne’ is a medium sized Premier Group cultivar; dark green foliage, elliptical shaped, acute apex, red margin, branching habit; oval main stems, coloured green + purple; clusters of flowers are open, self-coloured apricot-orange, staminodes are large, edges regular, petals purple, fully self-cleaning, good bloomer, flowers in late summer until frosts, blooms open in the early morning; fertility unknown; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured purple; tillering is good.
