Introduced by Pierre Antoine Marie Crozy of Crozy et fil, Lyon , France in 1884, Canna (Balisier) ‘Abel Carrière’ is a small Crozy Group cultivar; bronze foliage, elliptical-acuminate shaped, spreading habit; flowers are self-coloured wine-red, edges serrated, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not known if true to type, not self-pollinating.
