Introduced by Quality Gladiolus Gardens, Arkansas, USA, Canna (Balisier) ‘Tangelo’ is a small Premier Group cultivar; green foliage, oblong shaped, spreading habit; flowers are open, self-coloured saffron-yellow, staminodes are medium size, edges lightly frilled, petals red with farina, fully self-cleaning, good bloomer, flowers in summer until frosts, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not self-pollinating or true to type, capsules globose; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured white and pink; tillering is average.
