Introduced by Vilmorin-Andrieux et Cie, Nurserymen, France in 1895, Canna (Balisier) ‘Sémaphore’ is a medium sized Crozy Group cultivar; bronze foliage, lanceolate shaped, upright habit; round main stems, coloured purple; flowers are open, self-coloured saffron-yellow (RHS 21A), staminodes are narrow, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not known if true to type, not self-pollinating.
