Introduced by Georges Truffaut Nursery, France in 1966, Canna (Balisier) ‘Roitelet’ is a small Crozy Group cultivar; green foliage, oval shaped, maroon margin, branching habit; oval main stems, coloured green + purple; spikes of flowers are open, self-coloured red, staminodes are narrow, edges irregular, fully self-cleaning, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not self-pollinating or true to type, capsules globose; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured purple; tillering is average.
