Introduced by Bernard Yorke, Australia, Canna (Balisier) ‘Marie’ is a medium sized Crozy Group cultivar; mid green foliage, elliptical shaped, acute apex, transparent margin, spreading habit; spikes of flowers are open, apricot-orange with a narrow yellow margin, throat orange-yellow, staminodes are medium size, edges lightly frilled, labellum is apricot-orange with a narrow yellow margin, stamen is gold speckled with apricot-orange, style is gold, petals green, fully self-cleaning, good bloomer, flowers in summer until frosts, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not self-pollinating or true to type, capsules globose; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured pink and purple; tillering is good.

Canna ‘Marie’ is available from specialist growers.
