Introduced by Lemoine, France, Canna (Balisier) ‘J.D. Cabos’ is a medium sized Crozy Group cultivar; green and purple variegated foliage, ovoid shaped, acute apex, maroon margin, branching habit; clusters of flowers are cupped, orange and apricot, staminodes are medium size, edges irregular, petals purple, fully self-cleaning, good bloomer, flowers in summer until frosts, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not self-pollinating or true to type, capsules globose; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured purple; tillering is average.
