Introduced by Vilmorin-Andrieux et Cie, Nurserymen, France in 1937, Canna (Balisier) ‘Castagniès’ is a medium sized Crozy Group cultivar; bronze foliage; flowers are self-coloured orange-red, staminodes are large, fully self-cleaning, good bloomer, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not self-pollinating or true to type.
