Introduced by Wilhelm Pfitzer Nursery, Germany in 1949, Canna (Balisier) ‘Perkeo’ is a small Crozy Group cultivar; green foliage, oval shaped, acute apex, maroon margin, upright habit; oval main stems, coloured green; flowers are open, cerise-pink with a narrow yellow margin, staminodes are medium size, edges irregular, fully self-cleaning, good bloomer, flowers in summer until frosts, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not self-pollinating or true to type, capsules globose; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured white and pink; tillering is average.
