Canna (Balisier) ‘indica var. flava’ is a medium sized species; light green foliage, ovoid shaped, acute apex, spreading habit; round main stems, coloured green; oval flower stalks, coloured green; spikes of flowers are erect, primrose-yellow with cherry-red spots, staminodes are long and narrow, edges regular, petals green, fully self-cleaning, good bloomer, flowers in summer until frosts, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, self-pollinating and also true to type, capsules globose; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured white and pink; tillering is average.
